Ordstirr Mahjong Privacy Policy

Your data stays yours.

Who we are

Ordstirr Mahjong ("the app") is an Android app published on Google Play by Liberty Apps, USA, under the Ordstirr name. It is a Mahjong game played against computer players, with Mahjong Solitaire. If you have a question about this policy, email [email protected].

The short version

The app does not collect, send, sell or share any of your information. It has no internet permission, so it cannot connect to the internet, to our computers or to any cloud service. Everything stays on your phone. We, the developer, never receive or see anything about you or your phone.

What the app keeps on your phone

The app saves only your settings (such as sound and rule options), the free-trial start date and whether the full game has been unlocked, in its private storage that other apps cannot open. The computer players run on the phone.

What we collect

Nothing. There is no account and no sign-in. The app contains no advertising, no analytics, no crash reporting and no tracking. Apart from Google's Play Billing Library, which lets the app talk to the Google Play Store app on your phone about the purchase, it contains no third-party code that handles your information. It does not use the Android advertising ID.

In-app purchase

The app is free to try. After the free trial, a one-time in-app purchase (US$1.99, or the local price Google Play shows you) unlocks the full game for good. There is no subscription. The purchase is made and paid for through Google Play, under your Google account and Google's own terms and privacy policy. Google processes the payment. We do not receive your payment card details, your name, your email address or any other personal information from Google.

To check whether you have bought the unlock (including Restore purchase), the app asks the Google Play Store app on your phone, and saves only the unlock status on your phone.

Phone permissions

  • Google Play billing (com.android.vending.BILLING): for the one-time unlock.
  • An internal permission that only this app can use, added by Android's support library so the app's own parts can talk to each other safely. It gives no access to your information.

The app has no internet permission.

Links

The About screen has links to our website, ordstirr.com, and to our other apps. A link only opens if you tap it, in your phone's own browser or the Google Play Store app, outside this app. Links carry no tracking codes. Websites you visit are covered by their own privacy policies.

How long information is kept, and how to delete it

Everything the app stores stays on your phone until you clear the app's data or uninstall the app, which erases it. Your purchase stays on your Google Play account, so you can restore it after reinstalling. Because we never receive your information, we have nothing to look up, hand over or delete for you.

Children

The app is a general-audience game and is not directed at children. It does not collect information from anyone, including children.

Google Play

The app is downloaded, and the unlock is bought, through Google Play. Google handles your Play Store account, downloads and payments under Google's own privacy policy (policies.google.com/privacy).

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will post the new version at this same web address and update the date at the top. If the app ever starts collecting any information, this policy and the app's Google Play listing will be updated before that version is released.
